Teach you to learn CAD: External reference cutting application

CAD software is the main design software for industrial applications, and Zhongwang CAD is the most used domestic CAD software in China. The following is an introduction to the external reference cutting application of Zhongwang CAD, so that everyone has a deep understanding of Zhongwang CAD.

In the application process of Zhongwang CAD, there is often a situation in which after the block is inserted, the graphic display content of the block is changed, not only in the original position, but also in the original block range. In addition, there is a part more content, as shown below:

Figure 1 Before the selected part is blown up

Figure 2 After the selected part is blown up

The blasted graphics have more display than the blasted graphics, and it seems that after the block blasts, some other hidden content is displayed. What caused this change? We can find the block according to the block name, and insert the block with the INSERT command. The comparison graph can find that the graphic of the block before the explosion does not match the graphic of the block, but the block after the explosion is the content of the block. What is going on here? How can I make a block display only part of the content and hide another part of it? After we have created a block (or external reference), we can implement it by:

1. Enter the XCLIP command in the command bar, or click on the menu: Modify -> Crop -> External Reference

2. Select the external reference (or block) you want to crop.

3. At the command prompt, select "New Boundary"

4. Select the polygon or rectangle to form the crop boundary, and then complete the external reference (or block) cropping

What we need to pay attention to is that the cropped external reference (or block) does not delete the part outside the clipping boundary, but hides it and only shows the content inside the clipping boundary. As in the block above, when we use the EXPLODE command to blast the block, the hidden part is displayed by cropping.

In addition, we can use the XCLIPFRAME variable to control whether the clipping boundary of the external reference (or block) is displayed. When the XCLIPFRAME variable is set to OFF, the crop boundary is not displayed; when the XCLIPFRAME variable is set to ON, the crop boundary is displayed.

If we need to partially hide the external reference (or block) in the process of drawing the CAD design, we can use the XCLIP command to achieve this effect.
