The research team focused on resorcinol-formaldehyde (RF) resin, a general-purpose synthetic polymer that can be used as paints and adhesives, and independently developed a method for synthesizing RF resins using a high-temperature hydrothermal method, and was the first to discover the use of this method The prepared RF resin powder can be used as a semiconductor photocatalyst. The RF photocatalyst resin synthesized by this "out of common sense" discovery can synthesize H2O2 with the highest efficiency in all solar conversion reactions using powder photocatalysts reported so far.
