The unit improves the reliability and stability of the power system; it reduces the standby capacity of the system, realizes energy conservation and emission reduction, and promotes the economic and efficient development of offshore oil and gas fields. Among them, the submarine cable has played a decisive role as the power link of the offshore power system. In the offshore oil industry, submarine cables generally use photoelectric composite submarine cables, which are mainly used for power transmission and data communication between platforms or between FPSOs (floating storage and unloading devices, which can initially process and store crude oil) and platforms. Because of the limitation of exploration power, the development of oil and gas fields developed in China is still in shallower waters. Photoelectric composite submarine cables are mainly deployed in waters with depths of up to 300 meters. The main voltage levels are 6.3 kV, 10.5 kV, 22 kV, and 35 kV. “With the development of offshore oil and gas regions, deepwater development and the vigorous development of offshore wind farms, the current 35kV voltage-grade submarine cable transmission capacity will be stretched.
