Russian scientists develop new materials that make electronics more compact and faster
According to the Russian Satellite News Network on February 4th, an international scientific research group composed of experts from Russia and the United States introduced the first-generation semiconductor materials for the first time in the world, and took further steps toward smaller, compact and faster electronic products. The use of this new material allows the circuit to be reduced to nanometer size while speeding up the operation of electronic instruments. The theoretical part of this study was completed by experts from the National Institute of Technology, NUST (Misis), Russia. The experiment was conducted by researchers at Tulane University (Louisiana). Dr. Pavel Sorokin, PhD, Ph.D. of Physics and Mathematics at Russia’s National Polytechnic University, said that the use of “smart materials†can help reduce the power consumption of devices and change their structure and design. After all infrastructures have become nano-level, people will be "intelligent" on a daily basis in the surrounding environment of streets, supermarkets, hospitals and other places. He pointed out: "The speed of optical relays, photodiodes, automatic sensors and other digital devices will also accelerate."
