(3) Solid carbide drill bits.

High-performance solid carbide drills are the best choice for high-quality holes and can be completed in a single drilling process. The robust solid carbide drill bit withstands high feed rates and speeds (10 times faster than HSS drills). If the required tolerance falls within the IT8 range, the machining of the hole is not required without secondary machining.

Seco's Feedmax drills are Seco's latest generation of high performance solid carbide drills. A special TiAlN coating and a high-strength cutting edge provide long tool life. Based on high-strength carbide rods, Seco's Feedmax drills minimize the risk of tool breakage, while low-friction TiAlN coatings improve chip discharge. Clamping of the parts is important when drilling with solid carbide drills. Movement of the workpiece position can distort the drill bit, affecting accuracy and tool life, and can cause the drill bit to break.

Rapid finishing of holes by reaming

The finishing of the hole can be done with two additional machining operations - reaming and boring. In general, rough drilling holes rely on boring to improve positional accuracy. What is the tolerance requirement for the part to be judged by reaming or boring the hole? What is the number of parts being machined? What is the skill level and working environment of the operator? What is the amount of investment in the sickle?

Although reaming is more challenging than boring, the speed can be increased by up to 6 times without pre-adjusting and requiring much lower tool investment. Reaming is particularly effective for medium to large batch processing that requires high productivity and low cost per hole.

The Seco Precimaster is a replaceable cutter multi-tooth reamer designed for extremely high feed rates and simplified reaming. This reamer head directly from the factory provides a targeted size, thus eliminating any tool adjustments. Thanks to its highly precise clamping system, the diameter is accurate to IT7. In addition, the system is designed with an adjustable coolant outlet for the blinding of the blind and through-holes using the same tool tip. Precimaster is especially suitable for medium to high volume production, but it can also be used in small batch production compared to conventional standard reamer, offering low cutting forces and longer tool life.

Precimaster reamer

For higher accuracy requirements or larger batch applications, Seco's Precifix and Bifix indexable blade reamers are a good choice for providing IT6 accuracy. With the Precifix reamer, this can be achieved by adjusting the coolant outlet form when reaming blind holes or through holes.
