Feed should be added to vitamin C during aquaculture

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, has an important physiological role in fish and shrimp. When fish and shrimp consume insufficient vitamin C, it is easy to cause vitamin C deficiency, hinder the normal growth and development of fish and shrimp, and even cause death. Therefore, vitamin C must be added to aquatic feed.
It is worth noting that the theoretical demand for vitamin C in fish and shrimp differs greatly from the actual amount added. Because vitamin C has strong reducibility, it is very unstable. It is easily oxidized by air in alkaline or acidic solutions. Physical and chemical factors such as ultraviolet rays, heat and metal ions can also destroy vitamin C. Therefore, in the process of making feed, the actual amount of vitamin C added should be greater than the theoretical demand. At present, the actual amount of vitamin C added in the feed is mainly based on two points: one is the nutritional demand of the relevant species, and the Other is the stability of the variety used. The recommended amount of vitamin C in the feed is generally 4 to 5 times the amount required.
