In order to seize the high-end market, South Aluminum Company invested 177 million yuan this year from Italy to introduce a 55MN extrusion press with a maximum extrusion capacity of 5,500 tons. The production line has a total length of more than 70 meters. After 4 months of installation, the load test machine is started from July 21. Today, the equipment is operating normally.

"Compared with the 4,000-ton extrusion press put into operation in 2007, the 5500-ton extruder has a much greater 'resiliency'." According to Liao Rufu, the company's extrusion technician, the raw material for the processing of aluminum ingots must first be heated. When squeezing, the traction machine can be pulled to the discharge port when the first profile is produced, which changes the drawbacks such as the material bending deformation caused by the first material in the past, and improves the yield.

Large-sized container aluminum profiles require very high dimensional accuracy during the welding process. 1-2 mm is the upper limit of error. In the past, the production line could only be controlled at 4 mm or more. Products are often returned. Now that the 55MN extruder uses infrared positioning, the size can be as accurate as 1mm, and the old problem is solved.

“The new production line can also be molded into long aluminum profiles.” Technical staff told reporters that the aluminum profile of a subway car is 26 meters long. In the past, the company did not have the ability to produce such profiles. Such orders had to be surpassed. In comparison, the current extrusion machine can completely realize the mass production of subway compartment profiles.

According to the person in charge of the company, the introduction of the 55MN extrusion press will greatly increase the company’s competitiveness in the area of ​​train tracks, large industrial materials, and container materials, and will be used to develop and diversify the company's high-tech and high-value products. Aluminium profile production lays a solid foundation. At present, the company has signed large-scale container aluminum orders with container companies such as Shanghai and Qingdao.
